To honour what was traditionally used as a boundary marker, the Ti Kōuka (cabbage tree) stands at the forefront of the design set against the backdrop of two mountains representing Aotearoa’s main islands:
Te Ika-a-Māui, The North Island, Blue representing the coastal elements and Pacific ocean and Te Waipounamu, The South Island, Orange representing the ever present tussock lands.
A pathway stretches over them, flanked by orange triangles that leads toward the infinite Ranganui (sky father)
